Completed: Extension for Flying Fish Seafoods
South West-based food industry construction specialist, ProjectLink are delighted to have completed the production area extension for Flying Fish Seafoods.
Flying Fish Seafoods are a Cornish company specialising in supplying high quality fish to distinctive restaurants and hotels throughout the South and West of England. They source fish daily from local markets in Looe, Brixham, Newlyn and Plymouth, as well as speciality products from Scotland and Rungis market in Paris. With business booming, Flying Fish realised that the time had come to consider the expansion of their business premises. As specialists in the design and construction of buildings suitable for the preparation of food products, Flying Fish chose ProjectLink to help them move their business forward.
New Production Area, built by ProjectLink[/caption] Phase one of the new fish production facility has just been completed. Working to an extremely tight timescale ProjectLink built a new two story blockwork extension with timber rafters and insulated composite panel roof cladding. These extended premises were fitted out with hygienic insulated foodsafe panels to walls and ceiling, refrigeration equipment with external condensing unit and ceiling mounted evaporator, waterproof lighting and electrical sockets, stainless steel floor drains and polyurethane floor coating on a floor laid to falls. Each workstation has a ceiling mounted foodsafe hose and spray gun assembly, which greatly streamlines the seafood preparation process. On the completion of phase one, ProjectLink immediately and simultaneously commenced with phase two and three of the project. Phase two is to refurbish the existing seafood processing facility in the adjacent building and then connect the two buildings via insulated corridors. Phase three is to provide a temperature controlled, insulated environment for the storage of live lobster and crab. This is a new venture that the customers of Flying Fish have been continually requesting and they are pleased to add this increasingly popular shellfish product to their already extensive portfolio. ProjectLink are very pleased to have been of assistance in helping Flying Fish move their business forward.
