BV Dairy are a widely respected, independent milk producer based in North Dorset. Operating since 1958, the company has grown steadily whilst maintaining the traditional values of a local, family run business.
As a result of their continued expansion, BV Dairy contacted ProjectLink to detail design and construct a new building to house a 1000 pallet temperature controlled storage facility. In addition to the chillstore, the building also had to accommodate loading bays, offices, meeting rooms and an engineering workshop.
Outside the building. BV Dairy were keen to minimise the impact of their new development on the environment, so a sustainable drainage system (SuDS) was devised that included 2,500 square metres of permeable block paving, allowing drainage of the surface water, along with the run-off from the building roof, to be directed through a series of berms, swales and basins, allowing gradual percolation back into the soil.
What we did…
ProjectLink designed and managed the following works as part of the project:
- Local Authority Building Control, Building Regs approval.
- Groundworks, foundations & concrete slab
- Structural steelwork
- Roofing and cladding
- Coldstore panels & doors
- Loading bay equipment
- Refrigeration equipment
- Lighting, electrical & plumbing
- Pallet racking
- Permeable block paving
- Sustainable drainage system (SuDS)
- Office fit-out
What they said…
“ProjectLink integrated perfectly with our business to deliver a high profile, on-site building project. Their skills and experience in design and managing construction projects were key to the overall success; they provided construction management skills which we did not have within the business. Throughout the project, I was confident that the budget and timetable were in good hands, whilst also being fair and pragmatic with contractors. We are continuing to use ProjectLink for further construction projects”.
